  Date/Time: Tuesday, June 9th, 2:00-3:00 PM Location: FSU Student Union Topic/Skill: Casual Conversation (Productive Skills) and University Search. Feedback provided to the tutee:  As this was a more casual session, I focused on correcting my tutee's pronunciation any time she incorrectly pronounced words or phrases. If my tutee raised questions about grammar structure or vocabulary during conversation, I encouraged her to think back to the previous lesson and answered them when necessary. However, I mostly focused on pronunciation-centric feedback during this lesson, which included the recasting technique in which I repeated the correct pronunciation of the term/phrase that my tutee incorrectly pronounced in my own reply. This method allows the tutee to identify their own errors somewhat and hear the term/phrase correctly used and pronounced.   Date/Time: Thursday, June 4th, 2:00-3:15 Location: FSU Student Union Topic/Skill: Modal Verbs, "Taboo" card game Feedback provided to the tutee:   During this session, I utilized a game frequently played by native English speakers in which one player picks from a deck of cards; each card has a term with "forbidden" words written underneath it. The player who chooses a card must get the other player(s) to say the target term without using any of the "forbidden" words. This created a casual environment in which I was able to encourage my tutee to self-correct by conveying confused gestures. I focused on giving feedback on my tutee's use of modal verbs as that is what we focused on in the most previous tutoring session.    Date/Time: Thursday, May 28th, 2:00-3:15 Location: FSU Student Union Topic/Skill: Exam Preparation Feedback provided to the tutee:  During this tutoring session, I provided feedback to my tutee while she completed her exam review for her grammar class. I took a more hands-off feedback approach because it would be beneficial to replicate the kind of feedback she will receive on her exam. I allowed her to complete each section of the review, answering any questions when necessary, but waiting until she completed each section to provide error correction and feedback. Lesson(s) about tutoring and/or the tutee you learned:   During this tutoring session, I learned the importance of being honest when you, as the instructor, are uncertain. As this was a review for an advanced-level ESL student, there were high-level concepts that I was unable to answer in-depth questions about with 100% confidence.   Date/Time: Tuesday, June 2nd, 2:00-3:00 Location: FSU Student Union Topic/Skill: Modal Verbs, "Would you Rather" game Feedback provided to the tutee:   During this session, I asked my tutee direct questions regarding her knowledge of modal verbs. I provided direct feedback and corrected any errors in her thinking, utilizing information in a PowerPoint presentation I created and presented to her. After reviewing the concept of modal verbs, including their proper structure and use, I subtly corrected her by acting confused when she improperly used modal verbs while participating in a casual speaking game of "would you rather".   Date/Time: Friday, July 31st, 12:00-12:45 PM Location: Zoom   Topic/Skill: Grammar- Future Perfect vs Future Continuous, Video clip from "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" movie Feedback provided to the tutee:   During this session, I provided feedback by telling my tutee  that she may need to revisit the grammar structure if she was not moving in the right direction to answer one of the activity's questions correctly. If she was unable to self-correct, I went back to the PowerPoint presentation to reinforce the proper grammar structure and use until she understood her error and how to correctly use the verb tense in real time in the future.
